Play It Forward is a qualified charitable organization under IRC Sec 501c(3).

Our Tax ID # is 82-1708155.  All monetary and instrument donations are tax deductible.

It is the responsibility of each instrument donor, per IRS guidelines, to provide an appraised value of each instrument to the IRS.  The appraised value is then tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Play It Forward accepts gently used instruments donated by the community. Because our goal is to gift instruments that can be used by a student, teacher, or school for up to 5 years, playing a minimum of 2 hours per day, we do not accept pianos with the following defects:

*chipped keys
*sticking keys
*broken strings
*sluggish action
*loose pins
*missing music rack
*other

*Digital pianos and keyboards do not receive evaluations or appraisals.

After you fill out the intake form 1 of 3 things will happen:

  1. You will receive a piano pick up form.
  2. Your piano will be evaluated by a technician.
  3. You will receive our resource letter to help you find another home for your piano.

Play It Forward accepts gently used instruments for children who desire to study an instrument but lack the resources to purchase an instrument. Because our goal is to gift instruments that can be used by a student for up to 5 years, practicing 2 hours per day we do not accept instruments with the following flaws:

*sticking keys
*missing pads
*rust
*cracked wood

After donors have checked their instruments for viability, they are required to fill out our intake form. Donors will be contacted with the option to drop off their instrument at our location or opt to have their instrument picked up.
